The Actim Influenza A&B test is a rapid test that differentiates between influenza type A and B virus antigen from respiratory samples in just 10 minutes.
Simple Sample Collection
Recommended sample types are nasal swab and nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPA). The samples can be collected in transport medium and tested in the laboratory. The transported samples should be tested within 2 days after sample collection.
Easy Storage of the Test Kit
The kit can be stored at +2-25°C until the expiry date indicated on the product label. Please note that if you store the kit in the refrigerator, the components need to reach room temperature before testing.
Three Simple Test Steps
The test performance starts with sample collection. Alternative sample types are swabs or nasopharyngeal aspirates (NPA). The samples then need to be extracted using the extraction solution. After the 5 minute extraction step, the sample can be tested with the dipstick and the results are available at 10 minutes after dipping.
Easy Interpretation of Test Results
A blue line in the lower result area indicates a positive result for influenza type A, while a blue line in the middle part indicates type B. If only the black control line is visible, the result is negative.
Specifically identifies a variety of Influenza subtypes
The test specifically detects Influenza A and B viruses only. The test detects a variety of Influenza A subtypes including the avian subtypes H5N3, H7N3, H9N2 and H5N1. No cross-reaction has been observed with a variety of other respiratory viruses or bacteria.
